Director of Institutional Relations of the Bacalhôa Group
He began his professional career in research, focusing on the selection of Portuguese grape varieties, before moving into oenology in the Piedmont region of Italy. In 1989, he joined Bacalhôa, where he held leadership roles in viticulture, new product development, and oenology for the Alentejo and Lisbon regions. He co-authored the books Comer e Beber com Eça de Queiroz and Vinhos da Península de Setúbal. In 2007, he became the Winemaking Coordinator of the Bacalhôa Group following the integration of Aliança Vinhos de Portugal and Sociedade Agrícola da Quinta do Carmo. Vasco Penha Garcia holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from Instituto Superior de Agronomia (Lisbon), a postgraduate degree from the University of Turin (Italy), and a Master’s degree from the University of Lisbon. In 2025, Vasco takes on a new challenge within the Bacalhôa Group as Director of Institutional Relations.
